Housewives Vs Working Women: Who is Better?

As promised last week, I am back into the blogging business. When I use the term 'business', I do not mean this is what I do professionally to make money out it, although that would be great too. Won't it? ;)

My blog posts are meant for utilizing my sheer love for writing, to express my thoughts, experiences and opinions and then share them with you, and even better to help you out in some way, if possible.

The Hottest Debate of the Millennium

During the last few years I have had a lot of debates with my friends (many of whom are working women) about whether being a working woman is any better than being a stay-at-home mum.

It is no surprise that many of those working women still think that being a housewife means sitting at home and chill-axing while being a working woman means working your arse off when you are at work and then coming back home to looking after the house and family.

There is one thing that I have noticed that both housewives and working women always seem to settle on though. Can you guess what it is?

Yes, both kinds of women, working or not, complain about being in an unending vicious cycle of working all the time and never finding any time for themselves at the end of the day.

A Personal View

Now, because I am a bit of both: a stay-at home mum and work-from-home parent, and have never ever been against the idea of women working and getting a bit of independence, I'll try to give an unbiased opinion here.

Those of you who do not know already, I am an author, freelance copywriter, editor and ghostwriter.  I am, of course, a stay-at-home parent but I also work from home and write for my clients, and for myself too.

As a housewife and a mother of two, I can tell you for sure that at being at home is nothing like putting your feet up with your favourite TV show on and sipping on a warm cup of tea, or just lying down on your couch liking posts on Facebook or tweeting on Twitter. It's not like you just sit down and soak your feet in a warm tub of soapy water while your servants do the chores for you. This does not simply happen. Not at least for me. No matter how much you want to, you never get there. SIGH!

The Real Picture

Even when you are a housewife and have no maids or servants to outsource your chores to, you have to make those unending school runs everyday. In between those, you have to prepare dinner. You have to tidy up all the rooms in the house and clean the toilets. You have to do the laundry. You have to go and do the grocery. You have to make up the beds. You have to do the washing up, hang out the clothes (weather permitting), and then once they are dry, fold them and put them back where they all belong. You have to vacuum clean the whole house and mop in the kitchen and bathrooms. And if luckily, the sun is shining, you have to mow the grass in your garden. You have to weed, prune your shrubs and trim those hedges..... The list goes on and on....but it all doesn't end there.

Once the kids are back from school, there's even more to do....change them, prepare snacks for them, help them with their homework, and not to mention tidy up the mess again and again and again.....there is so much we women do all day that I could sit down and write a whole book on all the task we accomplish every single day (only if you lot are willing to read the boring bits). Does it end there? NO!

For some it might but once my kids are in bed, I am still working. I am all knackered but I have to spare some time for my writing then- writing for my lovely clients and for myself.

What About the Working Women?

Having said the above, working women are nothing less. They get up early, do everything they possibly can for their husbands and kids in those early hours of the day, get ready for work, drop off the little ones to school or nursery and drive off to work. They spend the entire day working in stressful conditions, meeting clients, solving problems, attending meetings and God knows what else they have to undergo.

To be completely honest, I have never actually worked in a professional 'office environment' so I cannot totally relate, but as I said before, I have plenty of friends who are working women. I listen to their stories and I know for a fact that they just don't go around sitting on a luxurious desk chair, gossiping and sipping tea or coffee all day.

They work hard- very hard indeed and under a lot of pressure. They have rules to follow and deadlines to meet. And once that is over, they just don't come home to put their feet up. They have to get all those chores done around the house in a limited time. And this involves all the tasks a housewife does during the day: cleaning, tidying up, getting the dinner ready, spending time with kids, getting them ready for bed, and so much more....

Weekends are Meant for Relaxing: Really?

Talk about the weekends, and it is no different. We women are still working! We still have to look after the kids and tidy up the house. There is absolutely no break for us!

The gist is...working or not, all women are great. We work hard. We all deserve to be loved, to be respected and to be treated equally. If only we ALL understood...

8 Reasons Why You Should Become a Ghostwriter

Despite having published under my own name, I prefer being a ghostwriter. While ghostwriting is not everyone's cup of tea, it just seems to work perfectly for me. The reasons?  1 . Ghostwriting Pays Well Ghostwriting is a lucrative niche . One of the best things about ghostwriting is that you get paid a handsome amount for it. And you get paid upfront. You don't have to wait to write, publish and then market your book to make any money out of it.    At Ghostwriters' World, I offer other writing services such as copywriting but ghostwriting undoubtedly pays the best. You just have to find the right clients- the ones who will pay you well. 2. You Have to do Less Homework Often your clients will have brilliant ideas and stories that they would want you to work on. This means you would not have to start from scratch. You don't have to come up with your own ideas and voice. You would have an outline or plot to begin with so you'll have to do less homewo...

Confining yourself to just one area wil...
