Writing Enticing Product Descriptions

The most number of orders I get from my clients involve writing enticing and captivating ecommerece product description for their website. Words are powerful: they can make or break a relationship and they can help you sell what you can't sell. I've made a list of some very simple, yet useful tips here to get your own product descriptions written without having to pay a content writer to do it for you: Focus on your product alone. Don't talk about other products. Jot down all relevant information about the product. Don't miss out on anything. Make a list of all the useful features separately. Qualities like affordable, long-lasting, unique are always good. People are looking for them! Use keywords for SEO . But don't do any keyword stuffing Think about the target audience. Write as if you're talking to them. Entice them. Keep it simple and short. People don't have time to read too much, but do that without missing out on any useful information. 1...

Ghostwriting – Convenience or a Lie?

While people are  increasingly  relying on ghostwriters to write books, web content, articles, stories or blogs on their behalf, there are still some people who do not appreciate the idea. Of course, the ghostwriter never seems to get the credit for his/her work and earns only a fraction of what the owner of the book or article earns. Doesn't sound fair? Or does it? Here's my honest opinion on it. Why do People Hire Ghostwriters? People hire ghostwriters for the sake of convenience. They may want something written, for example a novel, a memoir, a blog, an article or even engaging content for their website or descriptions of the products they wish to sell. They might have brilliant ideas to write a book that they are thinking about selling and making some money out of. They might just need to fill up their blog with quality content to keep their readers engaged and to increase traffic. So why do they need you? Despite all that, they may be lacking the time and  ne...

What Sells Well: Part 2

This post is more sort of a continuation of my previous blog post "What Sells Well?" In case you've not read it, here is the link: http://ghostwritersworld.blogspot.co.uk/2013/08/what-sells-well.html  In the previous post, I said you can sell almost anything if you provide a good quality as well as a unique product or service at a competitive price. You need to find a USP, that is your Unique Selling Point to let yourself stand out and look different from others. Now to understand the whole concept of selling anything well, I'll try to give you my own example. On Fiverr, (one of the freelancing platforms I work on) I have quite a few different writing gigs. Out of all those, my best selling gig is about writing product descriptions: http://fiverr.com/users/intellect001/manage_gigs/write-a-short-description-about-new-aap-game-website-or-any-products-you-are-thinking-of-selling Now, it's not that I'm the only one on Fiverr writing product descriptions...

10 Qualities of a Good Website:

In my last blog, I talked about the importance of  having a website, but before you create or redesign your website, take a look at these qualities of a good website and try to modify or create yours accordingly. 1. A Solid Domain Name Choose a name that is easily recognizable as your business and quick for visitors to locate. If the name you want—like designershoes.com—is not available try something like designershoes.net. Or, you might make a change to something like designershoe.com. Wherever possible stay with a dot.com domain and avoid things like hyphens or apostrophes. Your domain name is ultra-important. The name should identify your business like: SureFireKennels.com or RapidRoofers.net. It could gain or lose you customers so choose wisely! If you are unsure how to go about choosing a domain name, look at what your competitors have done. Do an Internet search and/or talk to an experienced web designer. Competition for good domain names is getting fierce. Use ev...

The Need to Have Your Own Website...

If you are in an e-business—or any business for that matter—then it has become impossible to conduct your business without a website. Even if you are the original Neanderthal of the Internet world, you must have a website and someone who knows how to design and maintain it.  What Your Website Does? Using your website, potential customers: visit your virtual store; find out about your bricks-and-mortar business location; become aware about your products/services; learn about you and your company; read about others' experiences or opinions with regards to your company; purchase goods or services from you (if you're very lucky;)). And you can: get brand recognition for your product or service; begin to build a relationship with visitors and hope to turn them into clients; buy or sell products/services; tell your clients about new products; showcase your products and services; answer customer questions; sha...

What Sells Well?

You might have heard the phrase 'Ideas sell' before. The truth is everything sells! We always are in need of certain things. When we need them , we buy them from the sellers who sell those.  But when there are a large number of sellers selling the same things, what is your chance of making a sale? What will make you stand out from the rest of the crowd? That may depend on a number of factors: 1. Where do you Stand? Let's say you are trying to sell handbags on eBay. Obviously there are others who're doing the same. People will choose to buy from you if you have made some a large number sales in the past, hold a good reputation ( for example if  you're a Top-rated seller with lots of positive feedbacks). You might need some good marketing strategies and advertisement to show your prominence. 2. Uniqueness: Considering the same example as above, your bags have a chance of selling more if your stock is unique and different from that of others : something that...

How to Start Selling Crafts from the Comfort of Your Home

Okay, I've been talking about so many different ways of making money online here. But haven't I missed something really important? Of course, making money by selling your goods. Now commercially available goods are what everybody is selling out there on the Internet. What you need is something different, something creative and innovative. How about some handmade crafts reflecting your own unique personality? Why not start your own crafts business sitting at home? I'll be honest. I'm not at all creative. I do a bit of knitting sometimes, but that's about all. To write this down , however, I've conducted some thorough research to get the right idea across. No wonder, crafts are popular selling items in the market. They are unique in their own way and people want different things for a change or just to look or feel different. Crafts may be made up by an individual or a small group of people together to create something out of nothing. If you to can think an...
