Words are powerful: they can make or break a relationship and they can help you sell what you can't sell. I've made a list of some very simple, yet useful tips here to get your own product descriptions written without having to pay a content writer to do it for you: Focus on your product alone. Don't talk about other products. Jot down all relevant information about the product. Don't miss out on anything. Make a list of all the useful features separately. Qualities like affordable, long-lasting, unique are always good. People are looking for them! Use keywords for SEO . But don't do any keyword stuffing Think about the target audience. Write as if you're talking to them. Entice them. Keep it simple and short. People don't have time to read too much, but do that without missing out on any useful information. 1...

What are Backlinks: The Basics of Backlinks You Need to Know

As you may have already picked up from its name, back-links are any links received from another website or webpage.  They back or support your page or website. Why are Back-links Important? The importance of back-links is in S earch Engine Optimization (SEO) . The number of back-links is an indication of the popularity or importance of your website or webpage. Google uses back-links as a measure when looking at your page ranking on its search engine . Back-links are also important because they can drive traffic directly to your site from people who click on the links. For example, if another blog publishes an article on SEO , and they link to one of my articles, let's say for reference purposes, posted on my blog, 'Ghostwriters' World' , a backlink has automatically been created. Anyone who reads the other article will potentially click on my back-link for more information. Back-links have a third purpose. They may also be of significant analy...

What Sells Well: Part 2

This post is more sort of a continuation of my previous blog post "What Sells Well?" You need to find a USP, that is your Unique Selling Point to let yourself stand out and look different from others. Now to understand the whole concept of selling anything well, I'll try to give you my own example. On Fiverr, (one of the freelancing platforms I work on) I have quite a few different writing gigs. Out of all those, my best selling gig is about writing product descriptions: http://fiverr.com/users/intellect001/manage_gigs/write-a-short-description-about-new-aap-game-website-or-any-products-you-are-thinking-of-selling Now, it's not that I'm the only one on Fiverr writing product descriptions...

Keywords are Good for SEO, Keyword Stuffing is Not

To understand SEO fully, you need to understand the importance of keywords and get familiar with terms like 'keyword stuffing' or 'spamdexing'. You want your website to have SEO-optimised content, and include keywords that people might be looking for on search engines like Google.  However, don't stuff your writing with too many keywords. You might put yourself into trouble that way.  How, you ask?  Well, let me explain. What is Keyword Stuffing? Keyword stuffing is (or better say was) an SEO technique used by web designers to stuff extra keywords onto a web page. This is (was) done so that search engines will rank the page higher in a web search. Search engines scan web pages looking for the keywords that you enter.  Let's say I look up on Google for handmade soaps.  The more times the words 'handmade soaps' appears on a web page, the higher the ranking the search engine gives that page.  But, wait!  Thi...
