10 Qualities of a Good Website:

In my last blog, I talked about the importance of  having a website, but before you create or redesign your website, take a look at these qualities of a good website and try to modify or create yours accordingly. 1. A Solid Domain Name Choose a name that is easily recognizable as your business and quick for visitors to locate. If the name you want—like designershoes.com—is not available try something like designershoes.net. Or, you might make a change to something like designershoe.com. Wherever possible stay with a dot.com domain and avoid things like hyphens or apostrophes. Your domain name is ultra-important. The name should identify your business like: SureFireKennels.com or RapidRoofers.net. It could gain or lose you customers so choose wisely! If you are unsure how to go about choosing a domain name, look at what your competitors have done. Do an Internet search and/or talk to an experienced web designer. Competition for good domain names is getting fierce. Use every

The Need to Have Your Own Website...

If you are in an e-business—or any business for that matter—then it has become impossible to conduct your business without a website. Even if you are the original Neanderthal of the Internet world, you must have a website and someone who knows how to design and maintain it.  What Your Website Does? Using your website, potential customers: visit your virtual store; find out about your bricks-and-mortar business location; become aware about your products/services; learn about you and your company; read about others' experiences or opinions with regards to your company; purchase goods or services from you (if you're very lucky;)). And you can: get brand recognition for your product or service; begin to build a relationship with visitors and hope to turn them into clients; buy or sell products/services; tell your clients about new products; showcase your products and services; answer customer questions; sha

What Sells Well?

You might have heard the phrase 'Ideas sell' before. The truth is everything sells! We always are in need of certain things. When we need them , we buy them from the sellers who sell those.  But when there are a large number of sellers selling the same things, what is your chance of making a sale? What will make you stand out from the rest of the crowd? That may depend on a number of factors: 1. Where do you Stand? Let's say you are trying to sell handbags on eBay. Obviously there are others who're doing the same. People will choose to buy from you if you have made some a large number sales in the past, hold a good reputation ( for example if  you're a Top-rated seller with lots of positive feedbacks). You might need some good marketing strategies and advertisement to show your prominence. 2. Uniqueness: Considering the same example as above, your bags have a chance of selling more if your stock is unique and different from that of others : something that

Working for Less Than a Fiver

While it may sound a lot less to work for less than a fiver today, I still think it's a great way to get started. If you think I'm talking gibberish, just bear with me. I'll tell you where and how you can start making money....very little money to start with but with a potential to build up with time....Now, I'm not asking you to do several hours of laborious jobs for a fiver. You can do anything, and that means absolutely ANYTHING! If you've ever Googled up for freelance jobs, you might have come across freelance websites like like Fiverr , Smobs, Fivesquids and many other similar ones where people sell small services for $5 or £5. With over 200 million gigs selling and more being added each and every day, Fiverr turns out to be the most popular among these. What to Sell for a Fiver?    Did I mention you can sell anything on Fiverr ? I suppose so. You don't need to have a particular skill or talent to become a seller on Fiverr or other similar webs

I Don't Have Enough Time....

"I don’t  have enough time" or "I don't get the time to...."   How many times a day do we say this phrase to others or hear the same from them? Have you ever wondered why? Why do we not have time? Why have our lives all of a sudden become so busy that we cannot spare time for anything or anyone? Going back in the era of which our grannies speak of, life was a lot tougher. Everything had to be done manually. There were no dishwashers, washing machines, juicers or blenders. People used to do all these jobs manually. Can you imagine doing all that today? Certainly not! At least, I can't. And why is that? Because..........we don’t have time! But then how come when at that time people had such tough lives, they still managed to find time to go and visit their friends and relatives and were very sociable too? They had time to look after their houses and children and they had spare time for parents, grand parents and grand children too. Today, we live in t

Tax on Money Made Online through Surveys in the UK

It is a common misconception that money made online is tax-free. The truth is that you need to pay taxes on all your income, whether it is made in a traditional way or earned online. It is just that at most times the money you make online is less than the 'Personal Allowance'( a small amount earned in a year on which you do not have to pay tax). In this article I'll clear this misconception and provide links to help you gain a deeper insight on the subject. Paying Taxes on Money Made Online Defining Tax Investorwords define the word 'tax' as: “ A fee charged (levied) by a government on a product , income , or activity. ” [ 1] Who has to Pay Tax in the UK? The HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) website states the criteria for paying taxes in a simple manner: “ If you work in the UK, you will usually have to pay Income Tax and National Insurance on your wages. How much you pay - and how you pay - depends on how much you earn, and wheth

ONLINE SHOPPING: IT IS NOT WHAT YOU THINK

Love doing your shopping online? Read this before you make your next purchase. The Good Things About Online Shopping I do almost 80-90% of my shopping online especially ever since I have had kids. Why? That is because it is so much easier (and often cheaper) to buy while you are sitting in front of your laptop or using your phone to make a purchase than to drive to the shops with your kids and shop around. Just a click or two and you're done! On the other hand, when you go to the shops you end up spending and buying twice more than what you actually wanted. And of course, if you have kids with you, you are unnecessarily adding more toys and junk food to keep them quiet and let you shop around in peace. It obviously takes much longer too. And the Bad...  So if you're someone like me who loves to do most (if not all) of her shopping online either for the sake of convenience, variety or cost-effectiveness, you'll be annoyed to know that many of your buying decisions
