The 7 Most Effective Time Management Tips- Saying Thank you!

Tip #2: Saying Thank you!

Last week I wrote my first blog on Ghostwriter's World about time management. Here is the link to it if you'd like to catch up:

http://ghostwritersworld.blogspot.com/2018/08/time-management-for-freelance-writers-5.html

Today's post is about time management too, but by being more thankful. I know what you are thinking- time management and saying thank you (gratitude)- where is the connection there? Trust me, there is. Just bear with me.

Appreciation and its sister- gratitude help create a happy workplace environment. The two go hand in hand to keep stress levels low and are also known to increase work efficiency. This all, in turn, leads to better time management. Still doesn't make any sense? Keep reading!

How to Express Gratitude

Take some time out at the end of the day- say about 5 to 10 minutes. Think of everything your are thankful for and everyone you are thankful to. Say for instance, you are a freelance writer, appreciate whatever you could write on a single day, even if it is just a couple of sentences. Be thankful for all the ideas you came up with and the exceptional talent that you have to paint them using your words. It's important you appreciate yourself if nobody else does. If you work with other employees, colleagues or members of the family, be sure to appreciate them too and see the magic happen.

Appreciation boosts the morale of people around you. They feel valued, significant and well-listened to. A mere 'thank you' at the end of the day for all they have done for you means a lot to them. It honours them for their work and makes them feel they are important and 'needed'. This naturally builds self-confidence and leads to better productivity. Some studies also reveal that expressing gratitude regularly leads to lower blood pressure and stress levels.

Now you see the connection there? As the vibrant, positive energy flows through you, your colleagues and/or your employees, the overall productivity increases. This means you get more done in a day than you would without expressing gratitude.

Some Ways to Express Your Gratitude

Often, just saying the word- thank you or some kind words or phrases like- 'You are a star', 'You are the best!', ' Well done!', 'Good job!', 'I do not know what I'd have done without You', do the job well. You may even send out a thank you note or letter.

Occasionally, though, it can be a bit more. You can treat yourself and those around you to a cuppa, coffee break, an extra day off from work, cakes, cookies or even lunch. You can throw a party, buy them drinks or tickets to the cinema or theatre. Buy presents or thank you cards. Be as innovative as you like!

If you work independently, you deserve to be treated just as well too. Take time out to do things that matter that most to you and those that make you feel good-inside and out. It can be anything from a chocolate bar to a body massage at your favourite beauty salon.

While showing your gratitude or being thankful for what you are and what you do is a great way to acknowledge the talents, ideas, efforts, it is unfortunately becoming rare these days. By appreciating yourself or someone else, you show kindness and your care. You lend out an extra helping hand. You create happy YOU, happy people and a happy workplace- a place where people would die to work for. You create an atmosphere where more can done in less time!

8 Reasons Why You Should Become a Ghostwriter

Despite having published under my own name, I prefer being a ghostwriter. While ghostwriting is not everyone's cup of tea, it just seems to work perfectly for me. The reasons?  1 . Ghostwriting Pays Well Ghostwriting is a lucrative niche . One of the best things about ghostwriting is that you get paid a handsome amount for it. And you get paid upfront. You don't have to wait to write, publish and then market your book to make any money out of it.    At Ghostwriters' World, I offer other writing services such as copywriting but ghostwriting undoubtedly pays the best. You just have to find the right clients- the ones who will pay you well. 2. You Have to do Less Homework Often your clients will have brilliant ideas and stories that they would want you to work on. This means you would not have to start from scratch. You don't have to come up with your own ideas and voice. You would have an outline or plot to begin with so you'll have to do less homewo...

7 Skills That Will Help You Succeed as a Ghostwriter

You have just found out that ghostwriting is a lucrative career . You wish to become a ghostwriter now, but you know it is not easy to be one. The biggest challenge you will face as a ghostwriter is to see someone else take the credit for your writing. That’s what all ghostwriters sign up for. Developing this sense of detachment is the first thing you’ll need to learn to do, but there are other skills that you’ll need to succeed as a ghostwriter. Besides having a command over the language and mastering the art of writing that we all need as writers, there are 7 other skills that, in my opinion, will help you develop a successful career in ghostwriting. 1. Be Versatile – You should be able to handle different kinds of writing projects with equal ease. While you may be an expert in a certain niche or genre, don’t just confine yourself to ghostwriting books. Expand your skills to write short or long articles, blogs, speeches or essays. Confining yourself to just one area wil...

Housewives Vs Working Women: Who is Better?

As promised last week, I am back into the blogging business. When I use the term 'business', I do not mean this is what I do professionally to make money out it, although that would be great too. Won't it? ;) My blog posts are meant for utilizing my sheer love for writing, to express my thoughts, experiences and opinions and then share them with you, and even better to help you out in some way, if possible. The Hottest Debate of the Millennium During the last few years I have had a lot of debates with my friends (many of whom are working women) about whether being a working woman is any better than being a stay-at-home mum. It is no surprise that many of those working women still think that being a housewife means sitting at home and chill-axing while being a working woman means working your arse off when you are at work and then coming back home to looking after the house and family. There is one thing that I have noticed that both housewives and working women...
